Machu Picchu is one of the New 7 Wonders of the World. It was rediscovered in 1911 by Hiram Bingham. This sacred city of the Incas is by far worth the travel it took to get there. It is more amazing in person than any picture can provide. The intricate work the Incas had to do in the 1450s to build this magnificent city in the middle of the mountains about 2400 meters above sea level is beyond words. Although my children are still very young I can only hope that these pictures will keep the memory of Machu Picchu fresh in their minds as they get older.

| These are the roads the bus drove to reach the peak of the mountain. It was about a 25 minute bus ride from Aguas Calientes. |
