Legoland, Malaysia

Legoland in Malaysia recently opened up just across the border from Singapore.  It was very easy and quick to get there.  We opted to go right after Parent/Student Conferences on Thursday as to steer clear from weekend congestion at the newest place to visit!  Legoland is the main attraction but there was quite a bit of construction as they are planning to add a waterpark, hotel and I am sure more shopping around the Legoland complex.

As usual the Reids and the Doffings headed out in a caravan to explore the theme park.  The kids were super excited and enjoyed spotting all the lego built decorations throughout the park.  We were so happy that there was cloud cover to keep direct sun away as it was very hot and not enough shade.  Thankfully, the lines were fast and the kids were to busy notice the heat and sweat dripping from their bodies.

We made it!

Layne, Katie, Bryce, Graham and Austin
First on everyone's list was to go to the driving school.

There were several rides that the kids and dads braved!  Most of the roller coasters were on the smaller side and the kids were able to venture the thrills.

Layne sat out on the scariest roller coaster and opted to pretend to ride one on this Lego built roller coaster.

Here are a few of my favorite Lego built finds:
Garden butterfly

Singapore Flyer

Singapore Merlion

Kuala Lumpar
Around 3:30 the skies began to darken and we knew our time was limited so we headed for the gift shop and hoped to get cover before the sky opened up on us.

Like I said, the kids absolutely loved Legoland.  However, I think we have checked it off our list of to do's and would rather go back to Universal Studios in Singapore.

Quick Catch Up

As always time quickly passes with the start of school and the blog gets neglected.  All is well in Singapore. The kids and all their activities keep me busy most days.

We still try to get out and about in Singapore on the weekends.  We headed back to Gardens by the Bay to explore the portion that we had not been to yet.

Layne and Bryce celebrated UN Day in their division of school.  They always seem to enjoy dressing up in their "home" country clothes.  It continues to amaze me that they are exposed to so many different cultures in their classroom.

Bryce presenting her wish for the world.

Although the girls are in different classrooms, it is nice that they still get to see each other.  It makes for less travel between rooms for me!

Graham had his first play of the year.  He was an announcer for a rock show.  I could tell he was nervous and I began to wonder how he would do.  Thankfully, he did a SUPER job.  He memorized all his lines and spoke with a clear and loud voice.

CHEER TIME!

Bryce and Layne are SAS Cheerleaders!  Since football is a relatively small sport in Singapore the cheerleaders are combined from Kindergarten through 5th grade.  The girls practice twice a week with games on Saturday morning.  So far the girls are enjoying it and of course they look absolutely ADORABLE in their uniforms.

Can you spot the girls?
