Thankful for Thanksgiving

Since we left Texas in 2010, we have spent Thanksgiving out of the US and we have used that break to explore the part of the world we are living in at the time.  We have been to Bali, Indonesia, Cameron Highlands, Malaysia, Langkawi, Malaysia, and Arequipa/Colca Canyon, Peru.  This year was different.  We didn't get on a plane and leave our home.  This year we had friends fly to our home and celebrate Thanksgiving with us in Lima.  One of our favorite families that we met in Singapore, the Reids, came for a visit.

It was very refreshing to be able to celebrate Thanksgiving with a traditional Thanksgiving feast.  Although we spent Thanksgiving day in our home we spent plenty of time showing the Reids around Peru.

I just loved watching all the kids playing together.  They laughed and laughed and had such a good time being together again.

Thanksgiving Day
After Thanksgiving we took a quick trip to Paracas.  We have been there before but it is definitely a place worth going to get to ride dune buggys, go sand surfing, and see the Ballesta Islands.

Headed to the Ballesta Islands to see the Candleabra, seal lions, penguins, and many other birds.

The video is of the sea lions very agitated at some kayakers that are very close to them.  Our guide even called it in the reserve authorities.  The sounds in the video are the sea lions barking.

After 2 days of sand surfing and boat riding, the kids had some downtime to enjoy the pool.

Our last dinner together was a favorite pick of the kids...Chili's!  It was a sad good bye when our friends left after a week of non stop fun but after being in 10 countries together I am pretty sure we will see them again.

Will Travel for Football

Graham has become quite the sport fanatic over the last couple years.  So, this year Brian took Graham to Texas for a fun filled weekend of football and more football.  They left the night of Halloween for the red eye to Houston.  As soon as they landed on Saturday morning they traded summer clothes for winter clothes and headed to College Station.  Brian took him to all his old stomping grounds at Texas A&M.

On Sunday, Brian took Graham to the Texans game.  They went with friends who had access to a suite.  So needless to say Graham really enjoyed his day at his first NFL game.

It was a short weekend away but I was sure ready for him to come home on Monday night!  Plus going through all the suitcases of goodies that Brian and Graham brought back was extra fun.
