Rio De Janiero, Brazil

October 9, 2016

Spring Break in South America continues to amaze us.  This year we headed to Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.  We stayed at our first AirBnB and the first time we travelled with no "itinerary".  6 full days of relaxation with some touristy things thrown in here and there.
View from our apartment on Copacabana Beach

We arrived early Sunday morning and spent the first part of the day catching up on sleep.  We then headed over to the Hippie Market in Ipanema.  It is only open on Sundays so we had to make sure we were able to get some shopping done!

We strolled on Copacabana beach for the rest of the day...checking out the beach and all the surrounding shops and restaurants.  It was low season in Rio, so there did not seem to be a lot of tourists.

Our first Caparini drinks!  Very sugary and delicious.

There were sand castles up and down the beach!

Summing Up September

The month of September can be summed up in word:  Cuzco!  The puppy has taking over our lives.  The kids were very excited to get a dog but no one realized how much work a puppy can be.  While the kids are quite helpful most of the puppy business defaults to me.  Luckily, Cuzco is very lovable and cute, I am willing to overlook the early wakeup calls in the morning.

When our life isn't revolving around the dog, the kids are still busy enjoying life in Peru.

CWW Amazon Trip to Iquitos

September 5-8, 2016

Graham and his 7th grade class went to Iquitos, Peru to explore the Amazon Rainforest.  He was able to serve the local community as well learn about the rainforest and build community among his classmates.  It was definitely a trip he will never forget.
