Copa. Copacabanaaaaaa

Wednesday, October 12, 2016

Today was a religious holiday in Rio so the city was full of people.  So we decided to take advantage of the local culture.  We spent the entire day on Copacabana Beach.

We started off the morning with a bike ride up the malecon.  They close the street one way on holidays and weekends so it was nice to have the extra space.  Ended the day chilling on the beach!

Beach and Botanic Gardens

Tuesday, October 11, 2016

After our full day yesterday we opted for a much leisurely day today.  Brian had a work call he had to take for a couple of hours, so I took the kids to the beach in the morning.  It was their first time in the Atlantic Ocean!  The waves were big and much warmer than Peru water.  Graham and Layne played in the surf and Bryce opted to hang with me on the beach and people watch.

After the beach, we headed to the Botanic Gardens.  We enjoyed walking and seeing all the plant life and we even spotted monkeys playing in the gardens.

I love how we can see Christ the Redeemer from almost any part of the city!  I was so glad it was clear blue sky kind of day.

Once we were finished with the Botanic Gardens we were ready for dinner in Urca.  It was a lovely restaurant with a view of the bay!
